Front view of completed body and neck, test-fitted together. All CB bodies and necks are finished separately and assembled after final finishing; this allows the neck to be removed for possible future repairs and adjustments without damage to the finish.

Front view of guitar after finishing. The body's dovetail cavity is still masked; great care is taken to assure that no color or lacquer gets inside the guitar or into the dovetail cavity. Finish has yet to be buffed out to the final polish; Chris will let the lacquer completely cure before final polishing and fitting of the neck and bridge.

Rear view of guitar after finishing, before final buffing. The hook-eye bolt protruding from the end of the neck dovetail is used to handle the neck during finishing and hang the neck during curing, and will be removed before final assembly. The masking on the dovetail and the underside of the fingerboard can be seen. Note the exceptional figure of the Mahogany neck, enhanced by the finish.

Rear view of body after finishing, before final buffing. The Cocobolo, an exquisitely beautiful tone wood, seems to glow under the finish.

Detail shot of the peghead after finishing shows how the figure of the Mother-of-Pearl rose inlay has been accented by the finish. Chris orientates the pearl pieces in different directions to give a three-dimensional effect to the rose.
