The CB "Vintage Elite"

The NEW Vintage Elite model is Chris' tribute to the great 12-fret Dreadnought guitars of the early 1930s. A sister model to the Vintage 'Bone, the Vintage Elite shares the earlier model's simple and tasteful aesthetics, featuring a slotted peghead (as found on the early-1930s-vintage instruments) with abalone CB logo inlay, unbound Ebony fingerboard with no inlays (side position markers only), hand-made Ebony bridge with no inlays, large (4-3/8") sound hole with "double-ring" rosette, tortoise plastic pickguard, and a single trademark "Rose" inlay on the heel cap.

The 12-fret body of the Vintage Elite is larger than the more familiar 14-fret Dreadnought, with more room in the gently-sloped shoulders that extend to meet the neck at the 12th fret. Because of the 12-fret Dreadnought's shorter neck, the bridge is typically moved back towards the end pin; Chris' version utilizes a shorter scale length (24.75") rather than the typical scale length (25.4"), which allows the bridge to be located closer to the center of the top, allowing the top to vibrate more freely. This bridge placement also allows the top braces to be shifted away from the soundhole only slightly, which maximizes power and tone potential. All this results in an amazingly powerful and responsive instrument, with incredibly rich overtones. As an added bonus, the shorter scale length gives slightly less string tension and an easy-playing feel.

The CB Vintage Elite offers all the power of a traditional 14-fret Dreadnought and more, along with great versatility and beautifully elegant aesthetics. We are very excited about this new model, and we're sure you will be too!
